How Does it Work?

Our partners are businesses and government agencies that have a vested interest in habitat improvement work. They may be engaged in the outdoor industry and promote the improvment of habitat. Other of our partners may be required to offset environmental impacts from construction of infrastructure projects. Examples include construction of highways that impact streams, floodplains, wetlands, or habitat of sensative wildlife species.

The program provides a win-win solution to an often difficult and costly problem of finding land in appropriate geographic areas to conduct habitat restoration work. The cost of finding an appropriate property with a willing landowner or acquiring land in the area required for restoration work is often costly and time consuming. By partnering interested landowners with engaged partners, we provide the opportunity to reduce upfront expenses for our partners while creating habitat on landowners' property.

As the intermediate organization, we do not provide landowner contact information to a potential partner until we have discussed the potential project with the landowner and determined that they are interested. At that point, with the landowner's permission we will facilitate a more detailed discussion of the project and all relevant details.
